Anyone going into an aged care home (nursing home) on either a permanent or temporary basis will need to have an ACAT to find out if they are eligible. The only time you don’t need an ACAT and are eligible straight away is if the aged care home is completely privately funded. You are not able to get any government funding assistance in a privately funded aged care home.
