UnitingCare Queensland joins Catholic Health Australia

UnitingCare Queensland has become the first non-Catholic aged care organisation to join Catholic Health Australia, which is the country’s largest non-Government provider group for health, community and aged care.

Catholic Health Australia, which represents organisations accounting for 12% of residential aged care and 20% of seniors’ home care and support, changed its constitution to allow the admission of any organisation that “conducts and controls a health, aged care and/or community care service, and which service or facility is conducted, to the satisfaction of the Board, as a Not For Profit and in the spirit of Christ’s ministry of healing”, paving the way for UnitingCare Queensland to be admitted as its 40th member.

“This is a historic moment for Catholic Health Australia and for our ministry. I am grateful to our members and to our church leaders for embracing this wonderful ecumenical opportunity,” said Catholic Health Services Chief Executive Pat Garcia (pictured).

UnitingCare Queensland provides aged care services through Blue Care, ARRCS and Ny-Ku Byun Elders Village.
