Kalyra Woodcroft Aged Care is a well established 83-bed facility conveniently located in Woodcroft, offering a quality alternative for residential aged care to frail older people living in the Morphett Vale area. Set on spacious grounds residents are accommodated in single rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms in a very homelike environment.

Kalyra Woodcroft also hosts a dedicated memory support unit that provides specifically tailored programs with the security of knowing these residents are safe within their environment.

Kalyra Woodcroft Aged Care employs a wide range of skilled professional staff, with registered nurses available around the clock. The staff profile includes a Director of Care, Care Manager, Clinical Nurse, Registered and Enrolled Nurses and Careworkers. The clinical and care staff are supported by the Lifestyle, Hospitality, Maintenance and Administration teams, who are committed to delivering aged care services thoughtfully and with a real concern for each resident as the individual, they are.

A talented and skilled workforce is employed at the site, including a dedicated team of registered nurses, enrolled nurses and care workers, supported by a lifestyle coordinator and aides, hospitality staff and maintenance support. In keeping with the value of “Quality Service,” we have a commitment to continuing staff education, we support student placement and we award three significant annual prizes for Flinders University students studying medicine, nursing and allied health-related to aged care.

Care is taken to afford personal freedom and privacy to each of the residents, combined with the delivery of care which is based on a holistic approach from an interdisciplinary team. Each resident of Kalyra Woodcroft enjoys their own private room with an ensuite bathroom.

Intergenerational Approach

Our intergenerational programs were recently featured on the Ageless Friendships series by the ABC.

Kalyra Woodcroft is truly intergenerational giving rise to fun and laughter as students visit from Wirreanda High. So successful has this been, the community has committed to more innovation with a co-located, middle years Montessori school.

The Southern Montessori Middle School is now open at Kalyra’s Woodcroft Aged Care. This partnership is an Australian first and paves the way for intergenerational approaches to care in the industry.

On Tuesday, May 28th, middle schoolers, residents, board members, and VIPs came together to celebrate this innovative, intergenerational model that brings young and old Australians together.

We first honoured the Kaurna people and an elder performed a traditional cleansing and welcoming ceremony as pictured below. Chairs, MP and CEO’s shared their delight about this exciting project coming to fruition and honoured those who helped it progress through many stages. After the unveiling of the plaque, we all enjoyed morning tea together with coffees made by the budding middle school baristas.

The launch of the Southern Montessori School marked a momentous milestone in the greater Woodcroft redevelopment plan. Stage 1 and 2 of the development are now complete, and the 3rd stage will bring a vibrant community centre with a cafe and services for the local community.

Woodcroft Building Project

Kalyra Woodcroft is currently in the third stage of their building and redevelopment project. The building project is transforming the way we engage with the community around us, is increasing the comfortability of current and future residents and is leading Australia in a multigenerational approach to care with an onsite Montessori.
