Eldercare Trowbridge House
Eldercare Trowbridge House was established by Congregational Homes for the Aged. In 1977, the Home joined Uniting Church Retirement Homes (now Eldercare) and is now known as Trowbridge House.
Trowbridge House is a two-storey facility comprising three units upstairs and one unit downstairs. There are single rooms across the facility with the majority having private ensuites. The site underwent a significant upgrade in 2005.

Trowbridge House is located close to several shopping precincts including The Parade at Norwood and Burnside Village which are only a short drive away.
Site Features and Amenities
Trowbridge House has extensive garden areas with sheltered areas and BBQ facilities providing opportunities for outside activities for residents, their families and friends.
The hairdressing salon, public telephone, large screen television, full laundry service and domestic laundry for personal use add to the comprehensive facilities available. There are also regular visits by doctors, allied health professionals, beauty therapists and several local businesses.
Meals are cooked on-site daily by a chef. A continental breakfast is served daily with a cooked breakfast offered on Tuesdays. There is a choice of two courses for lunch and three courses for evening meal.
Lifestyle
Residents come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and our lifestyle programs aims to ensure their specific needs and preferences are well catered for.
We have developed strong relationships with local GPs and pharmacy services. In collaboration with Norwood Council, we maintain links with social services including a community bus and elderly citizens clubs. The Norwood library has provided a customised collection of large-print books for our residents to enjoy.
There is an intergenerational program run through local schools whose students undertake their community placement programs at Trowbridge House.
Residents gather regularly for group activities such as concerts, Happy Hour, movie days as well as shared interests such as gardening and a men’s group.
Those preferring one-to-one interaction may enjoy the company of lifestyle staff and volunteers.
An internet service is available to residents along with computer classes and assistance from staff to ‘Skype’ or email enabling residents to maintain relationships with family and friends; particularly with those who live interstate or overseas.
