About
Jeremiah Donovan House
Situated in natural bushland at the foot of the Darling Scarp, Jeremiah Donovan House is committed to providing the highest level of care and support to all residents.
The local shopping centre has a large Woolworths and Coles, clothing boutiques, a post office, banking facilities and a pharmacy. The facility has a bus stop right outside the home if needed, however there is a free bus that takes clients to and from the shops.
The home has 65 beds with specific wings catering for individuals with more complex and high level care needs, along with those with dementia specific support needs. The facility also has 15 extra service beds. All residents receive nursing care 24 hours a day. There is also an occupational therapy program that runs seven days a week.
All of the bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms and the extra service rooms and communal areas are fully air conditioned and specifically designed for activities, socialising and family visits. Residents are able to bring their own wall hangings, decorations and furniture where there is room. We pride ourselves in helping residents making the move to our Home to be as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Daily lifestyle activities take into account that many of our residents require high levels of care and every Friday afternoon, we hold a Bingo and Happy Hour - a lovely opportunity for residents to sit and chat. Residents can also enjoy craft and cooking activities or they may choose to participate in a morning exercise class or quiz afternoon. Activities and lifestyle programs are planned so they alternate to offer a variety of options and to maintain interest - there is usually always something to please and to suit the needs of everyone.
Jeremiah Donovan House is co-located with a Southern Cross Care retirement village, Donovan Village and day respite centre.
Short term respite accommodation, from one day to a number of weeks, for those intending to be permanent residents at the Home, is offered, providing peace of mind for Carers. It can also be an important step in the smooth transition of the care recipient into permanent residential care.
Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc is not-for-profit and is committed to providing residential care to ensure West Australians have access to the services they need. Services can be charged by payment of a maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD), a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) or a combination of both RAD and DAP. We welcome supported residents and people who are socially disadvantaged. Please contact our experienced Client Connect team on 1300 000 161 for more information.
