Tambo retirement village is a 7 acre private haven of beautiful gardens to shelter you from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world. The village is situated between Bairnsdale and Orbost, approximately 300km East of Melbourne, at a man-made channel that links Bass Straight and the Tasman Sea with the 400 square kilometre network of inland waterways known as the Gippsland Lakes. As a water-front town, Lakes Entrance is a very popular all year round holiday destination, including during winter months when the climate is often a few degrees warmer than Melbourne. The main thoroughfare of the Esplanade runs along the shoreline of the Cunningham Arm inlet, with marinas and attractive foreshore gardens on one side, and a great selection of shops and restaurants. The sand dunes and windswept coastline of Bass Straight, popular with surfers and swimmers, are a short walk across the footbridge. As a holiday town with a large emphasis on water activities and a high concentration of marinas and jetties along its extensive lake coastline. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Lakes Entrance is the base of one of Australia’s largest fishing fleets, where all fresh seafood can be bought  directly from the fishermen’s daily catch. The beautiful natural hamlet of Kalimna is located approximately 3 km before “Lakes” on the road from Bairnsdale. The area appeals to a wide demographic and is becoming increasingly popular with retirees and young families alike; strong demand for housing and accommodation evident over the past few years. The broad range of local services and a strong local infrastructure includes good schools, a range of sporting and other organisations, a well-equipped hospital and all that one would expect in an area close to a major township like Bairnsdale. The popular village of Metung is only a 5 minute drive away from Tambo retirement village, which is tucked away, like a well kept secret, in a peaceful corner of the Gippsland Lakes. Metung offers, a true escape, a chance to share simple pleasures. Its both incredibly romantic and fabulous for retirees and families. You can watch the yachts fly past, pull up a deck chair, do some fishing , enjoy a spot of lunch and just feel the atmosphere of this enchanted village, its truly beautiful.
