Is there a Home Care Supplement for Veterans?

Veterans Supplement

The veterans’ supplement provides extra funds for veterans with a mental health condition which the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) accepts is related to their service. 

It provides an extra 10% funding on top of the basic subsidy for the relevant Home Care Package level. 

Eligibility

This is determined by the Department of Veterans and the supplement is for a veteran who has a mental health condition which the DVA has determined is related to their time in service.  If a veteran qualifies for both a Veterans’ Supplement and also a Dementia and Cognition Supplement in Home Care, then the approved provider will only receive the Veterans’ Supplement.
